In order to implement new features, to simplify and to improve performance, a set of changes has been made in JBoss Enterprise Portal Platform 5.2.
The whole data storage has not changed and there is no migration of data to be made, there are mostly some configuration changes that may need to be applied (depending on the cases) and changes in the produced markup with potential consequences on customized skins.
Before doing the upgrade to JBoss Enterprise Portal Platform 5.2, backup the full 5.1 binaries with data and a full backup of the database.
If you are running on a cluster you will also need to backup the shared file system.
